Dr. Sally Wooding

Dr Sally Wooding is a Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years experience working with and supporting people in a variety of areas. She graduated from the University of Queensland (UQ) with a Bachelor of Arts (1st class honours) and a PhD in Attachment and Intergenerational trauma. Her treatment philosophy is one of collaborative care where clients feel heard and understood. Issues that impact wellbeing may stem from several things whether they be past, present or concerns about the future. Some people struggle with current challenges in their life be it their work or personal relationships and others may have diagnosed mental illness, and others may be experiencing challenges with both. All may need strategies to cope combined with an understanding that provides greater self-awareness, empowerment and resilience.

Sally takes a flexible evidence-based approach that is tailored to an individual’s unique needs and circumstances. This may draw upon several therapeutic frameworks such as an attachment-based approach, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Trauma-focused (TF-CBT), Mindfulness and Acceptance approaches, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). She is also an accredited CBTi Sleep Practitioner helping people with a variety of sleep issues.

She has extensive experience working with emergency responders including police, fire and rescue, paramedics and other medical or community responders.
